We had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March. We all dressed up as our favourite characters and brought in our favourite stories to share with our friends.
We made a cave like in our favourite story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ at Twinkles Leeds and invited our parents to come and join us for story time, everyone loved getting cosy in the cave and luckily there was room for us all as there was no bear!! There were lots of characters in Baby Stars and they enjoyed looking at (and touching!) each others outfits, especially the duck!!
We matched lines from well loved tales to the right story in Shooting Stars at Boston Spa, this was required lots of careful listening. The Shooting Stars also made their own book marks to use when their chosen bedtime story is just a little bit too long!
At Twinkles Knaresborough we used our favourite stories to develop our maths skills, carefully counting how many leaves we put on each side of Jack’s Beanstalk and used the Knights from one of our favourite stories to help us practice writing each numbers . We also enjoyed looking at different reading materials in the book corner, including the newspaper and comics.
